Morning comes around and you just don’t want to get out of your warm cocoon. Unfortunately, that’s the time when my belly starts to gurgle and food is one of my first thoughts. Sound familiar?
When your tummy says, “Feed me,” then hopefully I’ll be able to help you fill it up. Below, I’ve added some of my favorite breakfast ideas that aren’t only yummy, but are very nutritious. After all, breaky is the most important meal of the day.
Take out any bowl. The one I had used is nice and big so there isn’t any skimping! As you can see in the picture, I placed my scoops of Greek Yoghurt in the middle circle for a more decorative look! Now, add in fruit of your choice, usually I add strawberries, but anything works. Next, add oats or granola. Now, if you’ve had regular oatmeal, you’ll understand how plain oats can be. To relish that flavor, mixing some honey into a bowl of oats adds a splendid taste. From past experiences, adding too much (oats) can decrease the flavor. Just a sprinkle should do it, but more can always be combined. To garnish and add extra flavor sprinkle on coconut shavings or any other toppings. As a side note, adding cereal below everything works as well.
Toasted PB Goodness
This is a very simple yet delightful breakfast idea. All you need to do is pop that toast in the toaster or my case, the toaster oven. However, this is optional and plain bread can be used. The rest is just smearing some peanut butter on one side, slicing a banana and making a sandwich. There’s plenty of protein for the day and great for a day full of sports or activity.
Golden Fluffy Bread
Not sure if you can tell, but I’m talking ‘bout French toast here girlies. Most people have ate it before but if not, take out your pans and make yourself a batch. This recipe takes a little longer than the others above but it’s worth it. Combine all the ingredients below in a long, shallow container. Take your favorite bread and soak it in this mixture. Have the container close to your pan/skillet to toss the bread in and wait till it’s cooked golden. Pour some maple syrup over that and enjoy!
- 6 slices of bread (optional, but complies with recipe)
- 2 eggs
- 2/3 cup of milk
- ¼ tsp. Cinnamon
- 1 tsp. Vanilla extract
There you have it. Three easy recipes for a healthy, but yummy breakfast. As a teenager myself, I realize that most of us can’t cook, but still want to make something delicious. If you’re a great cook, then lucky duck, but otherwise try one of these! Remember, you’re body needs lots of love so fill it with goodness. Nourish, energize & fill it and your body will send you love back.
